The first two-day Workshop in the series was hosted by the Kilimanjaro Centre for Community Ophthalmology (KCCO) in Moshi, Tanzania on April 7-8, 2011. There were 25 attendees representing 13 organizations in the following 11 countries: Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
